Chairman of the National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center (HURC)
Hua Ching-Chun, Ph.D. in Land Economics from National Chengchi University, served as the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior of Taiwan from 2016 to 2024 during the presidency of Tsai Ing-Wen. In this capacity, Hua also served as the Acting Chairman of the National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center (HURC), a non-departmental public body dedicated to delivering social housing and driving government-driven urban regeneration projects. Hua was responsible for formulating and modifying the Housing Act, Rental Housing Market Development and Regulation Act and urban renewal-related legislation, notably the Urban Renewal Act, Statute for Expediting Reconstruction of Urban Unsafe and Old Buildings. As of May 20, 2024, the Executive Yuan has appointed Hua as the Chairman of HURC.
